I cried at the pictures of two wonderful women finally having their family recognized. While the struggle continues, the beacon of equality and freedom shines brightly over California.
These pictures stir feelings of deep sadness and also happiness in me for Del and Phyllis. It reminds me to appreciate what they have done to blaze the trail for me and my love of 15 years. I feel hope, but I can't ignore the bitterness of homophobia and the fear of being lesbian in many social spaces today. Thank you so much for posting the photographs.
I live in San Jose with my partner, 4 dogs, two cats and a guinea pig. I am studying Russian. I have started to play ice hockey, garden and work on political campaigns.
